OVERVIEW

Rheumatology is the sub-speciality of internal medicine devoted to the care of patients’ musculo-skeletal pain and arthritis. The most recent statistics show that there are over 200 rheumatic diseases.

The Rheumatology Clinic takes the responsibly of diagnosis and treatment of the different rheumatic diseases. It also educates the patient on the various rheumatic illnesses, the best possible treatments and how to cope with them. Awareness and early diagnosis are being stressed to help patients prevent the complication of the disease, which sometimes cause irreversible joint damage.

  • Rheumatic diseases affect your joints, tendons, ligaments, bones and muscles. Among them are many types of arthritis, a condition that affects your joints. Common symptoms include joint pain, loss of motion in a joint or joints, and inflammation (swelling, redness, stiffness, and warmth in a joint or affected area). Rheumatic diseases seem to affect women more than men.
  • The Rheumatology Clinic prides itself on the treatment of different types of osteoporosis (like post-menopausal osteoporosis, and steroid-induced osteoporosis).
