Special interests include vitreoretinal surgery, diabetic eye diseases and cataract surgery.
Dr. Tarek graduated with honors from 1st. Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague in 1999 when he started his residency and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery in the University Hospital in Prague. In 2005 Dr. Tarek achieved his Ph.D from Charles University in Diabetic Retinopathy and in which he has internationally published research papers.
Additionally, Dr. Tarek attended training in Moorefields Eye Hospital (UK) and completed his Vitreoretinal Fellowship in King’s College Hospital (London) in 2007. He has worked as a consultant in Liverpool Royal Hospital (UK) and Devon and Exeter Hospital (UK).
In 2007, Dr. Tarek was the first Czech qualified ophthalmology consultant to achieve the prestigious exam of the European Board of Ophthalmology in Paris, and was honoured by the Czech Ophthalmic Society.
Since 2009 Dr. Tarek is working as a vitreoretinal consultant in the Eastern Region of KSA, and in Bahrain.
